Baby Booties


This is my own pattern feel free to make items for sale or personal use please do not copy or re-post you may share the link with others

Materials:



size 10 DMC crochet cotton

Crochet hook
1.5 for new born
or  1.75 mm for 0-3 months
1/4 inch satin ribbon color of choice

Pattern

Sole:

round 1.ch 22,7dc in 4th ch from hook,dc in each chain to last(17 dcs),8dc in last chain,work the other side of chains make 17 dcs ,join in 3rd chain from begening,( 49 dc+ch3)


round 2. ch 3,dc in the same stitch,2dcs in each next 7 dcs, dc in next 17 dc,2dc in each of next 8dc,dc in each dc to end of the round, join (65dc+ch3)


round 3.ch3 dcs in same st and next dc(2dc in next,1dc in next)6 times,1dc in each next 18 dcs(dc in next dc,2dc in next)7 times,dc in next 10 st mark last st.made,dc in remaining stitches,join and fasten off. (82 dc)


instep version 1:


1. ch 15,make shell(2d,2ch,2dc) in 7th stitch from hook, skip 3 st shell in next stitch, dc in last st.ch 3, turn


2.shell in each shell,dc in last dc,ch3 turn


3&4. repeat row 2


finish off


side:

attach thread to the first base chain of instep,ch 42  DO NOT TWIST chain .attach with sl st to the other side of instep


round 1. ch3, 3dc in the side each of first 3 rows of in step,5dc in last row,dc in each dc and 2dc in each 2ch space of last row,working the other side 5dcs in side of last row,3dcs in each of next 3 rows,dc in the corner of instep ,dc in each ch,join with sl st in ch 3 of first 3 chains.


round 2&3. ch3,dc in each dc join with sl st in 3rd chain of first 3 chains

For Ruffles:

round 1:
join thread  with sl st to a corner of the instep, ch1 , sc in the same st , sc in each of the free loop of the chain, sc in the corner of the instep, work 3sc in the ch space,sc in the base if the each  shell , join

eyelet round.
 ch4 skip next st,dc in next,(ch1,skip 1 st dc in next)join in 3rd ch of begining 4 chs

round 2 : ch3,dc,ch2,2dc all in same stitch,shell(2dc,ch2,2dc) in each dc around, join with sl st in 3rd ch of first ch 3

round 3: sl st to first ch2 space,ch3,dc,ch2,2dc in same space,shell in each shell around fasten off.

weave ribbon through eyelets and tie into a bow


instep version 2:

1. ch 15,make shell(2d,2ch,2dc) in 7th stitch from hook, skip 3 st shell in next stitch, dc in last st.ch 3, turn


2.shell in each shell,dc in last dc,ch3 turn


3&4. repeat row 2





DO NOT FINISH OFF


hold the sole to the work matching the stitch on the hook to the marked stitch on sole and working trough both layers sc in each stitch around, join and fasten off


For Ruffles:

round 1:
join thread  with sl st to a corner of the instep, ch1 , sc in the same st , sc in each of the free loop of the chain, sc in the corner of the instep, sc in each of the next 2 dc, 2sc in the 2ch space,sc in each of the next 2 dc,1 sc in between the two shells,sc in each of the next 2 dc, 2sc in the 2ch space,sc in each of the next 2 dc, join

eyelet round:

 ch 4 skip next st,dc in next,(ch1,skip 1 st dc in next)join in 3rd ch of beginning 4 chs

round 2 : ch3,dc,ch2,2dc all in same stitch,shell(2dc,ch2,2dc) in each dc around, join with sl st in 3rd ch of first ch 3

round 3: sl st to first ch2 space,ch3,dc,ch2,2dc in same space,shell in each shell around fasten off.

weave ribbon through eyelets and tie into a bow

  4. In your sides, starting @ round 1 you do not have clear directions for me, are the rounds all the way around, & where do it start in the sole, send better directions or video to lmsunkin@hotmail.com subject, booties video. Thank you ,

    1. this is size 0-3 moths , I will try to make six moths size ,but I do dnot think that will be soon as I am very busy with my studies

  11. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I end with 72 stitches in the upper part of the bootie and 80 stitches in the sole. They should be the same to slip stitch into both, right?

Do you count your stiches by the end of each round?round of first sole should have 49 dcs+3ch and the increase in next round is done in the stiches made in the first 7 dcs&top of 3ch of the begining of first round and the 8 dcs made in the side chain (first ch madewhen started and you get total of 65 +3 ch

    3. I altered the sole to work. I realized after that I had the instep upside down. That is why my stitch count was less.

  14. I too am having difficulties on the sides. I don’t find the instructions to be clear. Where should I begin round 1 of the sides? Do I turn the work around?

    1. You start the side where you attach the chain, ch 3 and continue with work on instep , do not turn, hope this is helpful
